Alter Area St. Demetrios

O Come, let us Worship and bow down before our King and God.
O Come, let us worship and bow down before Christ, our King and God.
O Come, let us worship and bow down to Christ Himself, our King and God.

This invitation marks the beginning of each day for the Orthodox Church. It comes from the office of Vespers, and it expresses the attitude which is at the heart of Orthodoxy. The Worship of God - the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, - is fundamental to the life and spirit of the Orthodox Church.

CHURCH ATTENDANCE

Divine Liturgy begins at 10:00 a.m. The teachings and "Orthopraxia" of the Church, counsel that preparation to receive Holy Communion requires participation in the entirety of the service; at least from before the readings of scripture. Upcoming Divine Services and Holy Days

To be announced . . .

ALL ARE WELCOMED TO JOIN THE CHOIR

We are moving our small choir to the left side of the sanctuary to make room for others who wish to sing along. At this point in time, we will continue to use the Green Hymnal from the Archdiocese Department of Religious Education. No experience necessary--just a willingness to sing along.

PROSFORA TEAM

Our prosphora supply is running low. If you are willing and able to bake prosfora, we would like to share the responsibility and thus have a fresh loaf each week. A sign up sheet is available in the Narthex, or you can call Fr. Gianulis @ 220-0994.

ACOLYTES NEEDED

Young men over age 10 are encouraged to serve in the altar. No experience necessary. Altar boys are asked to arrive by 10:00 a.m.
